Out of Home Care
Balance to Bloom offers trauma informed services designed for children in out of home care. While all of our individual and group services are appropriate, we have designed a number of specific supports for children who are living in out of home care. Supports are appropriate for children with or without formal diagnosis or disability.
We provide individual therapy, group programs, environmental set up and support for transition to adulthood. Our supports focus on building skills and encouraging participation in everyday activities. See below for more information.
Balance to Bloom therapists have additional training in providing child-safe, trauma-informed, and culturally safe supports. We aim to co-design programs where possible.
Therapeutic Intervention
(Individual)
Therapy services for children and their support networks across several domains including emotional regulation, play, learning, socialising, school participation and performance, feeding and other self-care. Individual therapy includes assessment, goal setting, intervention and follow up. We work closely with all formal and informal supports to help children thrive.
Set Up for Success (Individual)
This program was created to support children in taking ownership through the co-design of their space and routines. Whether a child needs additional sensory supports in the home, has experienced a number of transitions or caregivers are wanting support to develop routines and expectations, this program is individualised to meet the needs of each child.
Life Skills for Transition
(Individual)
Transitioning to adulthood is tricky. Support across the preparation phase - typically starting at age 15 - and transition phase is imperative for children's future success. Balance to Bloom offers therapeutic support including assessment, recommendations, and intervention across key life skills such as meal preparation, budgeting, safety and home management.
