Group Programs
Balance to Bloom offers group occupational therapy programs focussing on developing children's skills and providing an opportunity for children to make friendships and families to find support networks.
Our group programs have been developed based on need with a focus on neurodiversity affirming and trauma-informed supports.

Groups are run weekly during term or as an intensive across school holidays. Both formats focus on building and practicing skills that are meaningful to your child.
Beyond Discovery
This program is a continuation of Discovering Me. Designed to further develop children's self-advocacy skills and foster ongoing self-understanding and growth. The program dives deeper into problem solving and decision making skills and includes building relationships understanding our own and other needs.
Feeding Foundations
Created for children and parents, sessions focus on delving into the sensory aspects of food. We aim to develop a shared language and understanding of your child's food preferences and areas of support. By emphasising the experience of food rather than just eating it, we strive to build your confidence in nurturing a positive relationship with food.
Interoceptive Detective
Interoception is the ability to sense and understand what's happening inside our bodies. This 10-week group focuses on tuning into body's signals to better understand physical and emotional needs. A great group for children struggling with toileting, feeding or who can't seem to access their emotional regulation strategies.
Little Hands, Big Skills
This fine motor program is designed to support kids having difficulty with fine motor skills in the classroom and beyond. We focus on classroom skills such as handwriting and scissor skills without forgetting about our everyday activities like shoelaces and cutlery use. This program will support children to develop the strength and skills for everyday.

Life Skills for Teens
This group focuses on developing everyday skills for teens. Whether your teen is working toward independence, or you want to up-skill their safety awareness this group includes building life skills to meet your teens potential. Parents will be provided a booklet outlining their child's skills, and an outline of strategies for home.
Discovering Me
Discovering Me is an 8-week self-advocacy group that aims to help kids understand and accept themselves and to develop the skills they need to advocate for their own and others needs and interests. Children are supported to explore their own identity while being offered an opportunity to understand others.
Puberty Plus
This 10-week program aims to provide practical and detailed information to support children and their support networks to break down puberty into easily understandable information. This gender-inclusive program includes managing hygiene and menstruation, dealing with big emotions, navigating social situations, and promoting confidence.
